Nolwenture was established in 2012 in Joensuu and has grown to 25 plus software engineers. Nolwenture has a strong presence in Eastern Finland, headquartered in the Joensuu Science Park and with an office in Kuopio’s KPY Novapolis Microkatu building since early 2021. In 2020 we established a sales focused subsidiary in Singapore to serve customers in the region.

At the core of our value proposition is the strength of our team, highly experienced and with diverse backgrounds and interests, and also international. All with a shared mindset and strong values reflected in our working culture. Nolwenture continues to invest in our people, tools and processes, technical skills and capabilities. Nolwenture sees good market growth potential both nationally and abroad.

We are more than just software coders for web and mobile apps. Everyone at Nolwenture works very closely with our clients to understand their challenges and so we can advise on the best course of action and make the right supporting technology choices. Across the company everyone has a voice as it should be in a creative industry, where we have trust and a safe environment to innovate.

We all work together to make our clients' vision a reality such as for commercial success of their digital products and services or in order to enable their core operations to be more efficient. We always aim to give added value such as by standing out from the crowd by creating a great User Experience or a solution that can be relatively future proof such as being able to scale.

Chief Commercial Officer / Sales Director

We are looking for a sales focussed individual who can realise our full growth potential, not least to accelerate sales such as by taking charge of public procurement bids to select and create winning proposals. You will bring high amounts of social capital, with a strong network of IT project buyers, a highly regarded individual reputation for managing expectations for all parties meaning high customer satisfaction such as measured in repeat business and for deals that have been profitable for the supplier too. You know how to represent your own organisation in the best light and bring out the best of the team behind you, motivating all to win and deliver.

The role will be responsible for reaching our sales targets for software development projects, both in terms of revenue and profitability. However, only with clients for whom we see the value in what they are looking to achieve and where we feel Nolwenture are best placed to help. Nolwenture’s business has been built on attracting and retaining the best engineers, referral and repeat business.

As we look for domestic growth beyond our local region, with ideally larger and longer term projects, both written and oral Finnish skills are essential, along with familiarity and a track record of the Finnish public procurement solutions. Nolwenture’s operating language is English, and Nolwenture have reference clients from abroad who appreciate Finland’s understated reputation, so you can also generate  international sales opportunities.  Other language skills are therefore an advantage. Crucial is to understand the needs and motivations of the buying organisation, with an empathy for the software team leaders as well as their management,  being able to articulate their requirements back to the Nolwenture technical team. You will bring the experience needed to navigate their complex organisations with the various stakeholders, influencers and decision makers, an eye for detail and patience to see through the bid process.

You will be located in Finland, ideally working from our headquarters in Joensuu, our Kuopio sub office. Alternatively you are based in Finland’s capital region with good national and international transport links, being Helsinki, Espoo or Vantaa. Currently most of our activities are managed well with remote or hybrid work.

The work includes traveling mostly nationally, where possible train travel is encouraged, but a driving license is also required.

In return Nolwenture will look to provide a supportive and innovative environment as a responsible employer for you to achieve your personal goals, pay a competitive salary and with clear incentives for success. Please apply in English to recruitment@nolwenture.com and if you have any questions you need to qualify first, feel free to call Rob Connell, CEO of Nolwenture on +358 505 851 302.
